About Health Facts
Plain-language reporting on blood sugar and metabolic health, written from published research.
Last reviewed 1 September 2026
What we publish
Health Facts publishes articles on a deliberately narrow set of related subjects: how blood glucose is measured and what the numbers mean, what A1C tells you and what it misses, how insulin resistance develops, the monitoring of type 2 diabetes, and the nutrition research that bears on all of it. We also cover heart health, healthy aging, sleep and stress, and body composition, because those questions arrive together in practice.
We stay in that lane so the writing can be specific. Each article works from published sources — systematic reviews and meta-analyses first, then randomized trials, then large cohort studies, then recognized clinical guidelines — and carries the source list it was built from. Our editorial standards set out that hierarchy and how we handle corrections.
Who operates this publication
Health Facts is operated by Coaching Companies LLC, a company based in Boston, Massachusetts.
The same company owns the A1C Diet, a product discussed in a small number of commercial articles on this site. When a reader buys it, this company earns the revenue. That is a material connection and we would rather you learn it here than infer it later. It is not an affiliate arrangement — there is no third-party merchant and no commission — and our advertising disclosure explains the distinction and which articles are commercial.
What it does not affect is the editorial work. No source is cited, omitted or characterised differently because of what the company sells. Where the evidence is weak, mixed, or points away from a commercially convenient conclusion, we report it that way.
Who writes it
Articles are researched, written and edited by a non-clinical editorial team, with AI assistance under human oversight. A person is responsible for every article: for choosing the sources, checking each claim against them, and for what is published.
Nobody here is a licensed medical professional — not a physician, nurse, registered dietitian, licensed nutritionist, psychologist or therapist — and nothing on this site is medically reviewed. No clinician checks our articles before publication. We say this on every policy page because a citation-heavy health publication with an editorial byline can easily be mistaken for one that carries clinical review. This one does not.
What this site is not
It is not a medical service, and reading it creates no relationship between us. We provide no coaching, no consultations and no individual guidance. We cannot answer questions about your own health, interpret your lab results, or tell you what to do about a medication — and we will not try, because doing so would be exactly the thing we are not qualified to do.
Never change a prescribed medication because of something you read here. Talk to the physician who prescribed it. Our medical disclaimer is the fullest statement of these limits and is worth reading in full.
