Medical disclaimer

Please read this before acting on anything you find here. It is the most important page on this site.

1. General disclaimer

Health Facts is a publication operated by Coaching Companies LLC. Everything published here — articles, graphics, newsletters and any other material — is provided for general informational and educational purposes only.

We take reasonable care to ensure our content is accurate and reflects the best evidence available at the time of publication. We make no warranties, representations or guarantees of any kind, express or implied, about the accuracy, reliability, completeness or suitability of anything published here. Any reliance you place on it is strictly at your own risk. We may update, modify or remove content at any time, at our sole discretion and without notice.

2. This is not medical advice

Nothing on this site constitutes the practice of medicine, nursing, dietetics or any other professional healthcare service, including the giving of medical advice. No doctor-patient, therapist-client or other healthcare professional relationship is created by reading this site, subscribing to the newsletter, or leaving a comment.

We do not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition, including prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, heart disease, or any other medical condition discussed in our articles.

3. Nobody here is a licensed medical professional

Neither Coaching Companies LLC nor any of its owners, employees, writers, editors, agents or representatives — including Ronan Demailly — is a licensed medical professional. This includes, but is not limited to, physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered dietitians, licensed nutritionists, psychologists and therapists. At no point has anyone affiliated with this publication represented themselves as qualified to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition or disease.

We are stating this prominently because our articles cite the American Diabetes Association, the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, and peer-reviewed journals, and they carry an “Editorial Team” byline. That combination could reasonably be read as implying clinical authorship. It does not. Our articles are researched, written and edited by a non-clinical editorial team working from published sources. They are not medically reviewed. No licensed clinician checks our work before publication, and no article on this site should be read as carrying clinical endorsement. Our editorial standards explain how we source and check what we publish.

4. Always consult a professional before changing anything

You should always consult your physician, registered dietitian or other qualified healthcare professional before:

  • Making any change to your diet, nutrition or eating habits
  • Beginning or modifying any exercise or fitness routine
  • Adjusting, reducing or discontinuing any medication or prescribed treatment
  • Making any health-related decision based on information obtained from this site

Never adjust, reduce or stop taking a prescribed medication because of something you read here, without first consulting the physician who prescribed it. This matters especially if you take insulin or other glucose-lowering drugs, where a dietary change made without medical supervision can cause dangerously low blood sugar.

Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you have read on this site.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency services immediately. Do not rely on this site, our newsletter, or any communication with us for urgent medical matters.

5. No guarantee of results

We make no express or implied guarantee about any health outcome. This includes, without limitation, any change in:

  • A1C levels or glycated hemoglobin readings
  • Fasting blood sugar or post-meal glucose levels
  • Body weight, body composition or body measurements
  • Medication dosage or reliance on prescribed treatment
  • Cholesterol, blood pressure or other metabolic markers
  • Energy levels, sleep quality or general well-being

Individual results vary significantly, and depend on factors entirely beyond our control: your individual health condition, medical history, pre-existing conditions, genetics, consistency, dietary choices, lifestyle habits and personal effort. That some readers have reported positive outcomes does not mean you will experience the same or similar results.

6. Testimonials and reader stories

Where this site displays testimonials, reader reviews, case studies, before-and-after comparisons or similar feedback, those represent the individual experiences and opinions of specific people, and are provided for illustrative and educational purposes only.

These results are not typical, and your results may vary. We do not claim, guarantee or imply that anyone else will achieve the same or similar outcome. Where a testimonial references a specific outcome — a change in A1C, weight loss, a change in medication — that outcome is unique to that individual and was influenced by their own circumstances, commitment and medical history.

No testimonial has been paid for. Testimonials are shared only with the explicit consent of the person who gave them. We may edit a testimonial for clarity or length, but never in a way that changes its substantive meaning.

7. Assumption of risk and personal responsibility

By reading this site and acting on any information, guidance or strategy published here, you acknowledge and agree that you do so voluntarily and at your own risk.

You accept full responsibility for your own health decisions and their outcomes, including decisions about diet, nutrition, exercise, medication, supplements and lifestyle. We publish general educational information. We do not prescribe, direct or control your health decisions, and we cannot account for your individual medical circumstances.

8. Educational and scientific information

Our articles draw on published scientific research and evidence-based principles in nutrition, metabolic health and related fields. We do not represent that what we publish constitutes clinical evidence, peer-reviewed medical research specific to your individual case, or a validated treatment protocol.

Nutritional and health science is continually evolving. Information that is considered accurate and evidence-based at the time we publish it may later be updated, supplemented, contradicted or revised as new research appears. We describe our approach to updates and corrections in our editorial standards, but we make no commitment that every previously published article reflects the most recent research.

Any reference we make to a scientific study, clinical trial or health statistic is provided for educational purposes and general context. It should not be read as a clinical recommendation for your specific situation. A finding that holds on average across a study population may not apply to you.

9. Third-party content and external links

This site links to third-party websites, studies, organizations and resources. Those links are provided for convenience and reference. We do not endorse, control, or take responsibility for the content, accuracy, opinions or practices of any third-party site or resource, and the inclusion of a link does not imply our recommendation or approval.

Your interaction with any third-party website or service is governed by that third party’s own terms and privacy policy. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, third-party content.

10. Reader comments

Comments and other reader-submitted content may be displayed on this site. We reserve the right to review, edit or remove any submission that is inappropriate, offensive, off-topic, misleading or promotional, without notice.

Views expressed in reader comments are those of the individual commenters, not of Health Facts. We do not verify and are not responsible for the accuracy of statements made by readers. Never treat a comment from another reader as medical advice.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Coaching Companies LLC, its owners, officers, employees, agents, affiliates and representatives shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with:

  • Your use of, or reliance on, any information published on this site
  • Any health-related decision, action or outcome resulting from information you found here
  • Any adverse effect, injury or health complication that may occur after acting on our content
  • Any error, omission or inaccuracy in our content
  • Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
  • Any third-party content, product or service accessed through a link on this site

This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or otherwise), even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

12. Indemnification

By using this site you agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Coaching Companies LLC, its owners, officers, employees, agents, affiliates and representatives from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the site, your reliance on information published here, or your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.

13. Commercial relationships

Some articles on this site discuss products and services owned by the same company that operates this publication. That relationship is disclosed in full on our advertising disclosure page. It does not change anything on this page: a commercial article is still not medical advice, and is still not written or reviewed by a licensed clinician.
